Explore, Experience, Connect: A Special Field Trip for Students at the 2026 English Summer Camp

Field trips are invaluable educational activities that help students step outside the classroom to directly see and feel the world, while enhancing their critical thinking and adaptability. Through team activities and cultural exchanges, students can build cooperation and a sense of community, essential skills for thriving in a global era.

For the upcoming 2026 English Summer Camp, LGO has prepared a hands-on, one-day field trip experience in the Hoi An – Da Nang region for participating students. This program will operate in an “open classroom” format, where students will observe, experience, and explore independently. Through various practical activities, students will gain a deeper and more vivid understanding of local culture, art, and lifestyles.

A Special Journey into Culture and Heritage

The Thanh Ha Terracotta Park & Museum in Hoi An is a unique space where students can directly feel the value of a traditional pottery village with over 500 years of history. Here, students will have the opportunity to closely observe the artistic pottery-making process and intricate handmade crafts, experiencing the beauty of traditional Vietnamese craftsmanship.

The highlight of this experience is the chance for students to sit at the potter’s wheel and mold clay to create their own pottery. Under the careful guidance of local artisans, students can also experience making traditional Hoi An lanterns. The process is designed to be easy and enjoyable, even for beginners, and the students will have the freedom to decorate their completed pieces, reflecting their individual creativity.

As they walk through the ancient streets of Hoi An, students will encounter unique architectural styles, the charm of yellow walls, colorful lanterns, and the serene daily lives of local residents. They will also experience the local culture first-hand by bargaining and purchasing goods at the Hoi An market, providing a deeper understanding of the local lifestyle.

Enjoyable Cooking Classes
During this journey, students will also have the chance to become “mini chefs” in a special cooking class, set against the backdrop of lush vegetable gardens. The cooking class goes beyond just making food—it’s an invaluable experience that teaches students how to handle ingredients, collaborate, and complete a dish together.

Students will prepare vegetables, roll fresh spring rolls, and season their dishes according to guidance, allowing them to create their own unique meals. At the end, they will enjoy the food they made, experiencing a sense of achievement and enjoyment.

Art and Learning at the Da Nang Museum
The Da Nang Museum is a spacious and comfortable venue, spanning over 1,185.5㎡ across three floors, blending modern design with natural beauty.

Here, students will have the opportunity to directly view more than 1,000 pieces of artwork, including paintings, sculptures, and applied arts. From oil paintings and lacquer art to silk paintings and traditional crafts, students will experience the broad world of both modern and classical art.

This museum visit will offer a creative learning experience where art theory meets emotion. Each piece of art is not just an exhibit but a “silent story” carrying history and culture. It will inspire students to think critically, see like artists, and explore their creativity. Through active discussions and exchanges between students and teachers, the learning experience will be deepened and expanded.
